Privacy policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

This policy explains how ROOTCLUB, operated by Root Club ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit this website, buy from it or get in touch with us (together, the "Services"). "You" means anyone who uses the Services, whether as a customer or a visitor.

Please read it carefully. By using the Services you accept the practices described here. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Services.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when our practices change or when the law or our operations require it. The new version is posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

How we collect and use your personal information

To run the store we collect personal information about you from the sources below. What we collect depends on how you use the Services. We may also use it to talk to you, to provide the Services, to meet legal obligations, to enforce our terms and to protect the Services, our rights and the rights of our customers.

What personal information we collect

"Personal information" means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you.

Information you give us

  • Contact details: your name, address, phone number and email address.
  • Order information: your name, billing address, shipping address, payment confirmation, email address and phone number.
  • Account information: your username, password and security questions, if you create an account.
  • Shopping information: the items you view, add to your cart or save.
  • Support information: whatever you include when you write to us.

Some parts of the Services need this information to work. If you choose not to provide it, you may not be able to use those parts.

Information we collect through cookies

We automatically collect information about how you use the Services ("usage data") with cookies, pixels and similar technologies. Usage data can include your device and browser details, your network connection, your IP address and the pages and products you interact with.

Information we get from third parties

  • Companies that support the store, such as Shopify, which hosts it.
  • Payment processors, which collect your payment details (for example bank account or card information and billing address) to complete your order.
  • Technologies such as pixels, web beacons and cookies that record when you visit the site, open or click our emails, or see our adverts.

We handle information from third parties in line with this policy. We are not responsible for the accuracy of information third parties give us, or for their own policies and practices.

How we use your personal information

  • Providing products and services: taking payment, fulfilling and shipping orders, sending order updates, managing your account, handling replacements and remembering your preferences.
  • Marketing and advertising: sending promotional messages by email, text or post, and showing adverts for our products on this site and others.
  • Security and fraud prevention: detecting and investigating fraudulent, illegal or malicious activity. If you register an account, keeping your login details safe is your responsibility.
  • Communicating with you and improving the store: giving customer support and making the Services better.

Cookies

Like most websites, we use cookies. They power the store, remember your choices, help us understand how the site is used and let us and our partners tailor adverts. You can find the cookies Shopify sets at shopify.com/legal/cookies.

Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can remove or block them in your browser settings, but parts of the site may then stop working properly, and blocking cookies may not fully stop information being shared with advertising partners.

How we share personal information

  • With vendors that work for us, for example IT, payment processing, analytics, customer support, cloud storage, fulfilment and shipping.
  • With business and marketing partners, including Shopify, to provide services and advertise to you. They use your information under their own privacy notices.
  • When you ask us to or agree to it, for example so a carrier can deliver your order.
  • With our affiliates or within our corporate group.
  • As part of a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy, to comply with the law or a valid legal request, to enforce our terms, and to protect the Services, our rights and the rights of others.

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

Third-party websites and links

Our site may link to websites run by others. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy or security practices, so please read their policies. A link is not an endorsement.

Children's data

The Services are not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about them. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security and retention

No security measure is perfect, and we cannot promise absolute security. Information you send us may not be secure in transit, so please do not use unsecured channels to send us sensitive details.

How long we keep your information depends on whether we still need it to maintain your account, provide the Services, meet legal obligations, settle disputes or enforce our agreements.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights. They are not absolute, and in some cases the law allows us to decline a request.

  • Access: ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete it.
  • Correction: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
  • Portability: ask for a copy, or for it to be passed to another company, in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction: ask us to stop or limit how we process it.
  • Withdrawing consent: where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it.
  • Appeal: if we decline a request, you can ask us to look again by replying to our decision.
  • Communication preferences: you can leave our marketing emails at any time with the unsubscribe link in each one. We may still send messages about your account or orders.

You can also set your advertising choices on our Your Privacy Choices page. To use any other right, email us at the address below. We will not treat you differently for doing so. We may need to confirm your identity first, and you may appoint an authorised agent, who will need to show proof that they act for you.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal information, please contact us. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may be able to appeal or to complain to your local data protection authority, depending on where you live.

International users

We may transfer, store and process your information outside the country you live in, including in the United States, where our staff, service providers and partners operate. When we transfer information out of Europe, we rely on recognised mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, unless the destination country has been found to give adequate protection.

SMS marketing

If you opt in to text messages from us, we do not share that opt-in or your consent with any third party for purposes unrelated to sending you those messages. We may share your information, including your opt-in status, with the companies that help us deliver texts, such as messaging platforms and phone carriers.

We do not sell your mobile information or share it with third parties for their promotional or marketing purposes.
